Every legendary creature gathered on the highest mountain for the annual "Most Fearsome Guardian" competition. Dragons practiced dramatic fire poses, giants rehearsed intimidating stomps, and the proud griffin arrived looking absolutely majestic. Unfortunately, no one told the griffin the event had been moved to the next mountain over. For hours it struck heroic poses beside an old tree, waiting for applause that never came. Passing birds politely complimented the impressive dedication, while a family of mountain goats assumed the griffin was unveiling a new scenic overlook. By the time the mistake was discovered, the judges awarded the griffin a special prize for "Outstanding Commitment to Looking Magnificent," proving that confidence.
